Norman Greenbaum

American singer-songwriter, born on 20 November 1942 in Malden, Massachusetts, USA. His song Spirit In The Sky (1969) made him one of the most famous and best-selling one-hit wonders of all time. Previously Greenbaum had been the leader and composer for Dr. West's Medicine Show And Junk Band, which recorded the novelty hit The Eggplant That Ate Chicago.
